This policy applies to the ElimuStar website, Android application, and school management services available through elimustar.com.
Who controls school data
Schools use ElimuStar to manage their own learners, staff, parents, results, fees, and communications. Each school controls the records it enters and decides which authorised users may access them. ElimuStar processes those records to provide the service.
Information we process
- Account information such as names, usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, roles, and authentication records.
- Learner and education records such as admission details, class information, assessment results, attendance-related records, report cards, and uploaded photographs.
- Parent, guardian, teacher, and staff contact information.
- School fee structures, balances, payment records, waivers, and related financial administration records. ElimuStar does not request payment-card details through the Android app.
- Messages and recipient details when authorised school users send email or SMS communications.
- Files users choose to upload or download and technical records such as IP address, browser or device information, login time, and security logs.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, provide school management features, generate reports, manage fees, deliver communications, support users, maintain security, prevent misuse, and comply with lawful obligations.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be available to authorised users of the relevant school. We may use hosting, email, SMS, backup, and technical support providers only as needed to operate the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect users and the service. ElimuStar does not sell personal information.
Android application
The Android application securely displays the ElimuStar web service. It uses internet access, stores login cookies on the device, allows users to select files for upload, and saves user-requested downloads. It does not request location, contacts, microphone, or advertising permissions.
Security and retention
ElimuStar uses HTTPS in transit, access controls, password hashing, role-based permissions, and operational safeguards. Records are retained for as long as the school account needs them, as required by law, or until an authorised deletion request is completed.
Children and school use
ElimuStar is an education service used under the direction of schools, teachers, parents, or guardians. Learner information, including information about children, should only be entered and accessed by authorised users for legitimate school purposes.
Your choices and requests
Users may update certain account information through their school. Requests to access, correct, or export school records should first be sent to the relevant school administrator. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain available on this page with its effective date.
